Jewelry 2007-2017

"Tossed and found" ART and JEWELRY
This site contains my art and jewelry that I make, often using found and/or rescued materials.  All creations are one of a kind.  I often donate proceeds from the sale of my work to causes such as arts scholarships for young people, funding for community services for seniors and disabled people living at home, animal rescue shelters, and environmental / water protection, Veterans for Peace, and Food Shelf networks.  Special listings for charitable causes will be listed separately.

For many years, I sold my work from a trunk show at Tom's Burned Down Cafe every day.   I recently decided to devote my time to working in my studio during the week, and selling on  select weekends.

NOTE: IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SOMETHING THAT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO CUSTOM MAKE SOMETHING FOR YOU!

CURRENT SERIES:
The Thunderbird turquoise series

This series was inspired by the memories of roaming the desert during the winter of 2013-2014;  turquoise, amber, coral and shells are frequent elements, as well as unusual and abstract wirework!  *Click on any photo to go to it's Etsy listing.

The ongoing "Stone Age Victorian" Collection focuses on combining lake stones or beach glass with beautiful crystal beads, contrasted by sculptural metal elements such as chain or sculptural wire and steel rings, hand-hammered with lake stones.
Picture
An oval piece of basalt with a thin diagonal line hangs from a battered lake-found steel ring from a hand-wrapped fitting with a sea-green fire polished glass bead.  Chain is black iron, from Turkey. SOLD

Picture
"Berries on the vine" hammered copper (repurposed electrical wire) with tiny basalt stones.  This particular pair is sold, but I can make you a pair that's similar, in whatever length you choose!
*Clasp earwires are lead and nickel free.  SOLD

Picture
THE "MATA HARI SERIES"
does not incorporate lake stones or beach glass--it simply focuses on fun designs using the most beautiful beads and metal elements I can find or make.  This pair is a personal favorite with dancers because the tiny beads at the bottom swing enticingly when you're moving to a sensuous beat!
*Clasp earwires are lead and nickel free!

2007-2013  Collections
The pieces shown are collections of my past work.  These pieces are all sold, but serve as example of the work I have done.  Nearly all designs are one of a kind, but I do custom work and can design something just for you!  You can contact me at madislandartist@outlook.com to discuss design, pricing, payment and shipping arrangements.
